Description
When the file is complete, an on-site inspection is conducted from a special Task Force composed within the Regional Department of Rural Economy and Veterinary (DAOK) and a recommendation is made to the Head of DAOK:
- If the recommendation is negative, then the Head of DAOK rejects the application and informs, without any delay, the applicant about the reasons of the rejection.
- If the recommendation is positive, then it is forwarded to the Directorate of Food Safety of EFET, within 30 days from the date of initial request submission.

Description
The Directorate of Food Safety of EFET takes all necessary internal actions for granting approval and if it is necessary a secondary on-site control is conducted to the establishment.
Finally, the President of EFET signs the decision for one of the following:
- to grant the facility/establishment approval number
- to grant a conditional approval
- to reject the approval
The above decision is notified to the Regional Directorates of EFET, DAOK and the applicant.
Notes:
1. Conditional approval is granted if the infrastructure and equipment requirements are met in accordance with EC 854/2004 (Article 3) and Article 7 of RA 1288/2017, however there are other requirements of national and EU legislation which are not met. In this case, in a new on-site visit within three months, it is ascertained whether all the requirement for granting approval are met.
2. After the approval of establishment, follows another process for notifying the business operation through notifybyssiness.gr.
