The procedure concerns the registration of Greek citizens in the special electoral rolls for postal voting exclusively in the European elections and for holding of national referenda.

Ιt is permitted to submit, cancel or amend an application up to 40 days before the elections are held.

Voters who have been registered in a special electoral roll for postal voting cannot vote at any polling station in any manner. Any infringement of the foregoing is subject to the penalties laid down in Article 113(2) of Presidential Decree 26/2012. If voters are unable to log on to the platform, voters within Greece can alternatively register through Citizen Service Centres, while voters outside Greece can contact the relevant Greek consular authorities.

The special electoral file may only be received by the voter or by a person expressly authorised for that purpose. Authorisation requires verification of authenticity of signature by a public authority or through the gov.gr electronic portal.
